Tips and Tricks for connecting to the KrispyGauge Configuration page
KrispyGauge runs its own WiFi hotspot. Join it from your phone or laptop and you can configure everything from a browser — no app needed.
Krispy_XXXX — password GetKrispyhttp://4.3.2.1 in your browser.The full network name is shown on the gauge at boot, or under Menu → Info.
You can also change the network name and password if desired.
Check WiFi is actually on at the gauge. If you've turned off Auto-Enable WiFi (which we recommend once you're set up), the hotspot won't start by itself. Turn it on from the gauge: Menu → WiFi → Enable.
Your head unit may have hijacked the phone. This is the big one. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto both use your phone's WiFi radio, and the handover is triggered over Bluetooth — so the moment you sit in the car, your phone connects to the stereo and won't hold onto the gauge.
Fix: turn Bluetooth off on your phone before connecting, or unplug the USB cable if you're on wired CarPlay. Turn it back on when you're done.
Ignition needs to stay on. The gauge is on switched 12V, so if the ignition clicks off, the hotspot goes with it.
Running two gauges? Each has its own Krispy_XXXX suffix. Check the one on screen matches the one you're joining.
You're probably not still connected. This network has no internet, and phones quietly drop off networks that don't. If you get a "this network has no internet, stay connected?" prompt, tap Yes or Keep. Then double-check your WiFi settings still show Krispy_XXXX and not your home or workshop network.
Turn off mobile data. Android in particular will happily send your browser out over cellular the moment the WiFi has no internet, and the request never reaches the gauge.
Type the address in full — http://4.3.2.1. Leave off the http:// and most browsers will either search for it or try HTTPS. The Web UI doesn't use HTTPS.
Turn off any VPN, and on iPhone turn off iCloud Private Relay. Both will route your traffic away from the gauge.
Try a different browser. Chrome and Firefox are the safest bets. If a sign-in or captive portal page pops up automatically, you can dismiss it and type the address in manually.
Still stuck? Forget the network in your WiFi settings, rejoin it, and try again. If that doesn't do it, email [email protected].
Once you've finished setting up, turn off Auto-Enable WiFi. The gauge runs with a increased performance when WiFi is off, and it stops anyone in range altering at your settings. It's two taps to switch back on when you need it.
