KrispyGauge streams live CAN bus telemetry directly into VRacer over Bluetooth — no additional hardware, no dongles, no extra wiring. Just enable it in the Web UI and go.
VRacer is a professional-grade motorsport data logging and lap timing application for iOS and Android. Built for track day drivers, club racers, karters, and motorcycle riders, VRacer puts broadcast-quality telemetry tools into the phone already in your pocket.
It captures GPS position, lap times, live sector splits, speed traces, and CAN bus vehicle data — then gives you the analytical tools to act on it: lap delta comparisons, video overlay with telemetry channels, ghost lap replay, and live pit-to-car telemetry sharing over the cloud.
KrispyGauge plugs VRacer directly into your ECU's CAN bus. While the gauge is decoding RPM, boost, and temperatures for its own display, it simultaneously broadcasts that same raw data over Bluetooth to VRacer on your phone — giving you a full data-logging rig with zero extra wiring.
KrispyGauge and VRacer are designed to work together out of the box. Getting live CAN data into VRacer takes less than two minutes.
Open the KrispyGauge Web UI (connect to Krispy_XXXX WiFi, visit http://4.3.2.1) and navigate to Settings. Toggle on VRacer Telemetry.
KrispyGauge shares its radio between WiFi and Bluetooth. In the Web UI, go to CAN Settings and disable WiFi Auto On. With WiFi off, Bluetooth is always active at the track. You can still turn WiFi on manually any time to access the Web UI.
Open the VRacer app on your phone. Navigate to the Bluetooth device settings and select KrispyGauge from the device list. The app will pair automatically and begin receiving live CAN data immediately.
Hit the track. VRacer captures your GPS lap times, sector splits, and full CAN telemetry from KrispyGauge simultaneously. After each session, review channel graphs, compare laps, overlay telemetry on video, and share data with your team or coach in the pits.
VRacer combines GPS lap timing with CAN bus telemetry into a single platform. Here's what you get when KrispyGauge feeds it live engine data from your ECU.
KrispyGauge streams real-time ECU data over Bluetooth — RPM, boost, temperatures, throttle position, lambda, fuel pressure, and every other channel your ECU broadcasts — directly into VRacer with zero latency.
Instant lap times, predictive lap timer, and live sector splits while you drive. GPS-derived timing with accuracy suited to track days, club racing, endurance events, and time attack.
Record your session on your phone camera and VRacer overlays live telemetry data — speed, RPM, throttle, brake, gear — directly onto the video. Share your laps with exactly the data your coach or team needs to see.
Plot any CAN channel against time or distance across laps. The smart reference lap comparison highlights exactly where time was gained or lost — corner by corner, brake zone by brake zone.
Stream live telemetry to your crew watching in the pits or watching remotely — ideal for endurance racing, coaching, and team events. Your engineer sees the same data you do, in real time, over the cloud.
VRacer ships with over 1,600 real race tracks pre-loaded worldwide. Can't find your circuit? Create a custom track in seconds using just a start/finish line on the map — no PC software required.
VRacer renders a virtual ghost car on a map of the circuit, showing the time and distance gap between your current lap and your reference lap throughout the track. See where you're losing time visually, not just numerically.
Works with your phone's built-in GPS for most track day use. Add a dedicated external GPS receiver (RaceBox Mini, RaceBox Mini S, Dual Skypro XGPS) for higher accuracy on tighter circuits and time-attack applications.
Every session is automatically backed up to the cloud. All your laps, telemetry, and video overlay recordings are stored and accessible across devices — never lose a session to a dead phone battery again.
KrispyGauge decodes your ECU's CAN bus and re-broadcasts every channel over Bluetooth to VRacer. The exact channels available depend on what your ECU broadcasts — but with a Haltech Elite or Nexus ECU, you get the full picture.
The full channel list depends on your ECU. KrispyGauge supports Haltech Elite and Nexus, Link ECU, MaxxECU, AEM Infinity, ECUMaster, MegaSquirt, Holley EFI, OBD2, and NMEA 2000 — each with their own set of available CAN channels. See the docs for your ECU →
KrispyGauge uses a single wireless radio that switches between WiFi and Bluetooth. When WiFi is active (e.g. to access the Web UI), Bluetooth — and therefore VRacer telemetry — is paused. When WiFi is off, Bluetooth is always on and VRacer telemetry streams continuously.
Disable WiFi Auto On in the CAN settings of your KrispyGauge Web UI before heading out. You can still manually toggle WiFi on at any time — telemetry resumes automatically once you turn it back off.
KrispyGauge uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Keep your phone close to the gauge — in your pocket, mounted in the cabin, or in a window mount. Avoid placing thick metal bodywork between the gauge and phone for best signal reliability.
KrispyGauge can feed VRacer telemetry from any ECU it supports over CAN. This includes:
VRacer supports importing sessions from RaceChrono, VBOX, NMEA logs, TrackAddict, Harry's LapTimer, and MyRaceLab — so your previous session history isn't lost when switching to VRacer. All CAN telemetry from KrispyGauge is captured natively in VRacer format.
KrispyGauge is the only 52mm CAN bus gauge with native VRacer telemetry built in. Plug it in, enable VRacer, and your ECU data is live in the app before you leave the pits.
