How to Firmware Update - USB Recovery

How to update your KrispyGauge using USB recovery - the alternative method.

USB Recovery

If the gauge won't boot, the Web UI is unreachable, or an OTA update failed, you can upgrade it over USB straight from your browser. No software to install.

You will need: a computer running Chrome or Edge, and a USB-C data cable (charge-only cables won't work). This won't work on a phone, and may not work in Firefox or Safari.

1. Unlock the firmware portal

Go to krispygauge.com/firmware and enter your serial number and the email from your order.

Your serial is printed on the box, or on the gauge under Menu → Info. If you can't get access, email [email protected] and we'll assign it.

2. Plug in the gauge

Connect the gauge to your computer with the USB-C cable.

3. Click Connect

On the firmware page, click Connect. Your browser will show a list of serial ports.

4. Select the port

Pick the KrispyGauge from the list and click Connect. If more than one device is listed, unplug the gauge to see which entry disappears, then plug it back in.

5. Click Install

Click Install and confirm. Flashing takes a couple of minutes.

Do not unplug the cable or close the tab until it finishes. The gauge reboots on its own when it's done.

After recovery

A USB reflash may clear your settings. Reconnect to the Web UI at http://4.3.2.1 and restore your saved backup under Advanced → Restore, or set the gauge up again from scratch.

Still not working?

If the gauge doesn't appear in the port list at all, try a different USB-C cable first — that's the most common cause. If it still won't show, email [email protected].
