Resetting the Gauge

A factory reset returns the gauge to its default configuration. There are three ways to do it — pick whichever suits the situation.

Back up first if you can. A reset clears everything: pages, channels, warning thresholds, colours, keypad mappings and ECU type. If the gauge is still reachable, take a backup under Advanced → Backup before you reset. See the backup guide.

A reset does not remove firmware. The gauge stays on whatever version it's running — only your settings are cleared.

Method 1 — From the Web UI

The easiest option if you can still connect.

1. Connect to the gauge and open http://4.3.2.1.
2. Go to Advanced.
3. Select Factory Reset and confirm.

The gauge clears its configuration and reboots.

Method 2 — From the gauge

No phone needed. Do this at the gauge itself.

1. Go to Menu → Info.
2. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
3. Confirm when prompted.

Method 3 — Ignition key cycle

This is the recovery method. Use it when you can't reach the Web UI and can't get to the Info page — for example if the gauge is stuck on a page, the touchscreen isn't responding, or you've locked yourself out.

1. Turn the ignition on for 2 secconds then off.
2. Repeat ten times.
3. On the next power-up the gauge boots straight to the reset screen.
4. Confirm the reset from there.

It works without any need to interact with the screen beforehand, which is what makes it the fallback when nothing else is available.

After a reset

The gauge comes back with default settings, so you'll need to:

• Set your ECU type under Settings — do this first, since changing it later wipes your configuration again.
• Restore your backup under Advanced → Restore, or rebuild your pages from scratch.
• Re-check your keypad identity if you're running more than one gauge on the bus.

When a reset won't help

If the gauge won't boot at all, or none of the three methods above get you anywhere, the firmware itself may be the problem. That needs USB recovery rather than a reset.
